Exclusive cheese store chain, member of “Hisada group”, including distinctive “Patisserie Judan” in Tachikawa and “Fromagerie Hisada” recently started to sell cheese from Serbia, namely cream cheese “A’ la Kajmak” and feta cheese called “Mediterano”, both products of dairy factory “Mlekara Šabac” from Serbia.

Beginning of this success story goes back to group exhibition of Serbian products, organized by Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency “SIEPA” (www.siepa.gov.rs) at the biggest food fair in Japan, “Foodex 2013”. During the fair representatives of “Hisada Group” (link www.hisada.biz) and “Mlekara Šabac” (http://mlekarasabac.com/#/home/) established their first business contact which led to export operation, from Serbia to Japan.

“Hisada group” operates since 1977 through its 21 stores in Japan and two shops in Paris, France. The name “Hisada” is associated with import of world famous, carefully selected brands from all over the world, representing high quality, exquisite taste and outmost refinement.

Along 200 brands, with approximately 60-80 on regular offer, depending on the season, Serbian “A’la Kajmak” and “Mediteraneo” joined the club for its excellent taste, quality and unique geographic origin. According to Mr. Hisada, customers are responding very well to Serbian cheese which could open a new window of opportunity and facilitate larger shipments. This does not come as a surprise considering 70 years long history of “Mlekara Šabac” that produces great variety of dairy products exporting to Europe, USA, Russian Federation and many other destinations.

Embassy representatives visited “Patisserie Judan” in the vincinity of Tokyo and exchanged views with the President of Hisada Group, Mr. Toshio Hisada and Eri Hisada President of Ken International (official importer of Serbian cheese, member of Hisada Group) about future prospects.

Presence of Serbian cheese in Japan represents rare, very valuable opportunity for Japanese consumers to get familiar with finished goods from Serbia (Serbia exports raspberries, probably the best in the world, and other fruits to Japan, mostly for Japanese dairy industry). As both parties, Hisada Group and dairy factory „Šabac“ expressed satisfaction, including the Japanese customers, in the first place, we sincerely hope this great cooperation will continue and promote more products from Serbia.
