In his introductory remarks Ambassador of Serbia H.E. Mr. Nenad Glišić presented the history of Yugoslav basketball from it’s very beginnings and the legendary amateurs who brought Yugoslavia big success at the world and European championships, till the present day professional Serbian basketball situation and achievements that Serbian Men’s and Women’s Basketball National Team have made.


Associate of the NPO “Next Big Pivot” Mr. Shuichi Kataoka presented the video interview with the former Serbian sport journalist living in Japan Mr. Saša Bugarski who gave detailed analysis of the present Serbia Basketball League, success of the Serbian basketball players in the NBA league and the differences between Serbian and Japanese basketball schools. The seminar was joined live from US by the Serbian basketball coach and Philadelphia 76ers scout Mr. Marin Sedlaček who answered questions from the participants on necessary characteristics for future basketball players, advantages of Serbian basketball players and possibilities for further improvement of Serbian basketball.


The seminar was led by NPO “Next Big Pivot” Representative Director Ms. Mie Kajikawa who served as an intern in the Detroit Pistons Community Relations Department in 2005 as the first Japanese female to become an intern for an NBA club.


Seminar participants also had the opportunity to taste traditional Serbian deserts, including makovnjača (Serbian Poppy Seed Roll).
