Printer Friendly Version Embassy Award Ceremony at the 45th Exhibition of Japan Modern Naive Art Painting (11 November 2019) @ 24 December 2019 04:56 AM

In accordance with the tradition established in 2009, Embassy award was presented to the Japanese Modern Naive Art Painter Ai Fujiishima for her work "The Dream Fairy Tale" at the ceremony held by the Japan Modern Naive Art Society on November 11 at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo.

The ceremony was attended by about 250 guests, primarily artists who have received awards from numerous Japanese institutions and organizations (including awards from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Tokyo Governor and renowned museums), as well as professors from Japanese universities of art and critics of naive painting. Our Embassy is the only embassy in Japan to award its prize in cooperation with the Association of Japanese Modern Naive Art, which in 2007 hosted an exhibition of a collection of paintings by the most prominent naive Serbian painters from the Babka International Center Fund.

The awarded painting will be on display at the Embassy for a year, until the next exhibition of modern Japanese naive painting.
