At the initiative of the Mainichi Shimbun Travel Agency, which operates as part of Mainichi Shimbun, one of Japan's largest daily newspapers, Embassy hosted a presentation "Delicious Lecture on Serbia" for thirty guests on December 12th.

In his opening address, Ambassador Nenad Glisic welcomed the attendees and expressed hope that after closer acquaintance with Serbia, they would decide to visit Serbia, see its natural beauty and experience our traditional hospitality and cordiality.

The attendees were also addressed by journalist and editorial board member of Mainici Shimbun Mr. Tadhiko Mori who had the opportunity to visit our country during the 1990s as a correspondent from Brussels. Mori pointed out that there were not enough reports from Serbia in the Japanese media in the 1990s, but most of the news was broadcast by US media, in which Serbia was mostly presented in a negative text, and that he personally had the opportunity to see that the media reports at that time were not objective, realistic nor balanced. He emphasized Serbia's great achievements in the last two decades in various fields and invited guests to visit Serbia and experience its hospitality and rich cultural, historical and culinary offers, despite the small number of organized tours in Japan.

Ms. Tijana Nagato and Mr. Chihaya Oyaizu from the Embassy presented geography and history of Serbia, cultural heritage, World Heritage Sites for which Japanese citizens always show special interest, intangible heritage of Serbia, local tourist destinations, airlines that fly to Serbia and traditional Serbian food and drinks.

The guests were served various traditional dishes and drinks after the presentation.
